Bentley Continental GT Supercars
Taking off: the Bentley Continental GT Speed 2016 now has a massive 642 CV!

The current Bentley range includes one of the most popular models of the first decade of the 21st century among the very richest, the Continental GT.
A model now in its second generation, of which we now know a new update that brings the Speed version to no less than 642 CV.
Since its launch in 2003, the Continental GT has never ceased to be a major source of income and popularity for the British firm, owned by the VW Group. Known as the first model of the “new era” of Bentley, the Continental GT quickly became one of the most coveted coupés among the wealthiest.
After a truly successful first generation, the Continental GT (and all its derivative models, such as the Flying Spur or the Continental GTC) was updated in 2011 with the arrival of the second generation, which improved on its predecessor in every respect. For the first time, a V8 variant was introduced, with a 4.0 V8 twin-turbo engine that Audi models later used—and still use—.
With 642 CV, the GT Speed 2016 is the most powerful Bentley on sale.
However, the version we are dealing with today does not feature this V8 engine—which many consider the best balanced in the range—but rather the most powerful variant to date of the monstrous 6.0 W12 twin-turbo. Until now, the GT Speed offered no more and no less than 635 CV, a figure that now rises to 642 CV. Maximum torque also increases, going from 820 to 840 Nm. Although top speed has not changed, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is now quicker, requiring only 4.1 seconds, 0.1 seconds less than before.
Coinciding with the arrival of this update, Bentley has taken the opportunity to introduce the Black Edition, which stands out from the rest thanks to piano black trim. The 21″ wheels also feature specific decoration and black paint. The most notable point is the contrast on both bumpers and sill panels, as these elements can be finished in St James’ Red, Beluga, Hallmark and Cyber Yellow tones.

Inside, the trend is the same, as this version offers a choice of different leather colours for the cabin, specifically Pillar Box Red, Beluga, Porpoise and Cyber Yellow. The decorative trim is lacquered carbon fibre. According to Bentley, the first deliveries of these versions will take place in the summer of this same year.
