Tata Nano Goldplus, on sale for 3.36 million euros

Strange things pop up online from time to time. Even so, it is perhaps more understandable that someone would spend a couple of million euros on a legendary car like, for example, a Ferrari250 GTO than spending more than three million euros on a Tata Nano

What you see on screen is the so-called Tata Nano Goldplus, a version built exclusively by Tata, clad in gold, silver and precious stones, enough to take the price per unit from 1,500 euros in India to 3.36 million, perhaps the most outrageous thing we have seen in a long time.

Apparently, this eccentricity was created by the Indian brand with the sole aim of promoting the worldwide jewellery chain Goldplus, which is owned by Titan Industries, one of the subsidiaries of Tata itself so, when all is said and done, it all stays in the family, at least until some tycoon decides to “loosen the purse strings” and take this very expensive toy home.

As for the figures, suffice it to say that, among other things, no fewer than 80 kg of gold, 15 kg of silver and around 10,000 precious stones have been used. Pay special attention to the peacock on the bonnet; I dare not imagine what that mini-bonnet ornament might cost, or to the solid gold hubcaps.
