Terrafugia Transition begins its flight tests

The American company Terrafugia has confirmed that its flying car, called the Transition, completed its first test on March 5 at Plattsburgh International Airport, New York.
The car is a two-seater designed to drive on all kinds of roads, as well as take off and land at any airport. Another truly interesting point is that the transformation of the car into a plane, or vice versa, takes approximately 30 seconds.
The vehicle uses a Rotax engine whose power allows it to reach a top speed of 185 km/h in the air and a similar speed on the ground.
According to the company’s expectations, the Transition should go on sale from 2010 at a price of 148,720 euros, and its prototype would be presented before the end of the year.
