The A5 and S5 Sportback arrive in Spain, and these are their prices

Spain has good reason to celebrate, because the second generation of the Audi A5 Sportback has arrived in our country. It is an attractive coupé with five doors, available in two versions and several engine options so that every driver has a choice for enjoying the drive. As it could not be otherwise, the information and entertainment equipment lives up to what buyers are demanding.

The main selling point of this new generation of the Audi A5 Sportback is a weight reduction of 85 kilos in the bodyshell, which helps improve its performance. The redesigned suspensions with five links on both axles also help. The wheelbase has been extended too, and the available engines have been improved, with lower consumption and emissions even though power has generally increased.

The entry-level version features a 2.0 TDI engine with 190 CV and a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. It will also come with quattro all-wheel drive. Another available engine is the 2.0 TFSI, which delivers 252 CV, also paired with the S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. This version achieves a consumption of 5.9 litres per 100 kilometres, which is quite reasonable for this type of engine.

The range is completed by the S5 Sportback, the sportiest version in the whole line-up. Its V6 engine delivers 354 CV, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Its performance is better than that of the model it replaces, with 7.1 litres per 100 km. More versions will arrive later, with 2.0 TFSI engines of 190 CV; 3.0 TDI of 218 CV, and the most powerful turbodiesel V6, the 3.0 TDI with 286 CV, which will go on sale after the two previous ones.

The driver-assistance technology of Audi is fitted to all variants of the model, and there are options available that complement the initial offer. Prices start at 43,300 euros, which is what the Audi A5 Sportback 2.0 TDI 190 CV costs with a 6-speed gearbox, the entry-level version. The price rises to 45,900 € if it is fitted with the S tronic gearbox.

The Audi A5 Sportback 2.0 TDI 190 CV quattro S tronic is priced at 48,330 €, while the Audi A5 Sportback 2.0 TFSI 252 CV quattro S tronic reaches 51,630 €. Finally, the S5 Sportback costs 77,900 €, a price that includes LED headlights, Audi virtual cockpit instrumentation, MMI Navigation plus, Audi connect, Audi smartphone interface, Audi connect safety&service, Audi parking system plus, cruise control, three-zone climate control and 19-inch alloy wheels.
