The Abarth Scorp-Ion Concept: a concept from the European Institute of Design for Geneva

Under the Abarth brand, the Scorp-Ion Concept will arrive at the Geneva show, a two-seat electric car as a design exercise. Although it is not exclusively the work of Abarth, Pininfarina, Maserati, Pirelli and OZ have had a major hand in its creation, though only in a collaborative and advisory capacity.

As we mentioned, the Abarth Scorp-Ion Concept is a two-seat electric car designed and built by seven students from the European Institute of Design in Milan. The idea is a concept that can sum up the Abarth philosophy: a compact vehicle with plenty of sportiness. An electric car whose powertrain consists of four electric motors located in the wheels.

The Abarth Scorp-Ion Concept was directly supervised by Luca Borgogno, one of the designers in Pininfarina’s permanent staff, and by Giampaolo Louis, a designer at Maserati.

And no, the model will not be the rumoured coupé that will sit in the shadow of the X-Bow (which we are eagerly awaiting, by the way), but without a doubt we will be seeing a concept that Abarth could make use of in the not-too-distant future.
