Now you can really tighten the bolts in the plug-in hybrid SUV segment with the arrival of the JAECOO 7, which, following its presentation where we were able to test the petrol 4×4 version, arrives with third-generation innovative hybrid technology Super Hybrid System (SHS). This model, with its new powertrain, has been improved in efficiency, performance, versatility and range, offering a comfortable and competent driving experience.

At the heart of the JAECOO 7 is the fifth-generation 1.5T GDI DHE engine, specifically designed for hybrid systems. This powerplant achieves a thermal efficiency of 44.5%, thanks to technologies such as the Deep Miller cycle and the i-HEC intelligent combustion, which translates into a homologated consumption of 6.0 l/100 km in hybrid mode.

The combustion engine is complemented by the advanced second-generation DHT hybrid transmission, which integrates two electric motors. This arrangement allows it to operate in multiple modes: pure electric, series hybrid, parallel hybrid and energy recovery, automatically adapting to driving conditions. In addition, it eliminates the typical jolts of gear changes, offering a smooth and quiet driving experience.

Class-leading range and charging

The JAECOO 7 has a 18.3 kWh battery pack and exceptional energy density. This gives it an electric range of up to 90 km and a combined total range exceeding 1,200 km. In addition, with a 40 kW charger, it can recharge from 30 to 80% in just 20 minutes.

The battery also incorporates advanced technologies, such as the Blade Battery design, which offers protection against impacts, fire and water immersion, and operates across an extreme temperature range, from -35 °C to 60 °C.

One of the standout innovations of the JAECOO 7 is its V2L bidirectional charging function, which allows the vehicle’s battery to power external devices with an output of up to 3.3 kW. This adds an extra level of practicality for users in adventure or emergency situations.
