The Audi RS5 in all its glory, from a Audi advertising brochure

These images were not officially released by Audi, but appeared in an advertising catalogue of the Ingolstadt brand. First of all, and with the photos in hand, it must be said that the model barely differs from the spy photos that Chris showed us last summer.

Secondly, the engine has not yet been confirmed by Audi, although it is said (and almost certainly will be) that it would use the 4.2-litre V8 (the same as in the RS4), but tuned to 450 horsepower. The wildest option of all would be the V10 engine from the RS6, but these are times of austerity, even for Audi’s RS series.

The speculation continues: it seems the RS5 will include the Dynamic Ride Control suspension system and the Torsen Quattro traction distribution system, just like its bigger brother, the RS6.

On the other hand, the RS5 will not be the only novelty (in addition to the Audi A1). An improved version of the RS6 is also expected, and the smallest member of the Audi family, the A1, is set to attract plenty of attention at Geneva.
