The Batmobile from the 1989 film for sale for 28,000 euros
This March, a replica of the Batmobile from the 1989 film is going under the hammer in London, a handcrafted build on the chassis of a Ford Mustang with a Chevrolet engine

We now have many superhero films on cinema screens and on streaming platforms, but a few years ago this kind of adventure was not so common. One of the first to bring the magic of these characters to real life was Batman, Tim Burton’s legendary film, released in 1989. That film debuted the most famous Batmobile in the character’s history, and today you can buy a (nearly) exact replica for 25,000 euros.
This is the price that this replica is estimated to fetch, which was built about ten years ago and is being put up for auction by Bonham at its March Auction taking place on March 20. It is a car commissioned by a London businessman who spent roughly 107,000 pounds sterling on its construction, around 125,000 euros, but the starting price will be much lower.

Chassis and engine
Although all the parts recall the legendary Batman car, which was used in the two films directed by Burton, the chassis used is that of a first-generation Ford Mustang. The engine that powers it comes from Chevrolet and is a 5.7-litre block that delivers 380 CV, more than enough to handle the most demanding night missions.

RÉPLICA BATMÓVIL SUBASTA
The bodywork, however, is best not subjected to gunfire, because it is made of fibreglass and cannot protect the hero driving it. By the way, this one has the steering wheel on the right and a complete instrument cluster. To get in, it has a cockpit like the original’s, as if it were a fighter jet, which it imitates.
We have no details about the car’s other features, but we know that it is fully functional and you can drive it. That said, only on private grounds, because it needs homologation to be used on the road. Rest assured, the jet engine doesn’t work either, although with the engine it has fitted, you won’t miss it.
Although it is a display vehicle, it doesn’t have to cost too much, and you can show off a car as visually striking as a supercar, but with that fantastic touch that movie car replicas have.
