The best current car video games to enjoy during quarantine
The state of alarm has been extended for another two weeks, and we bring you the best car video games to liven up the lockdown.
The console is one of the quintessential entertainment devices. Since time immemorial, Nintendo, Sony, etc. have delighted us with platforms and video games that, year after year, exceeded expectations. That is why, in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, we feel compelled to tell you which are the best current car games.
The state of alarm has officially been extended by 15 more days, so the Spanish lockdown will last at least a month. Many of us have already exhausted all the ways of having fun and entertaining ourselves that we had. All the movies watched, the series finished, and the adventure games completed. So, considering that we cannot take the car out onto the street, what better than being able to take it out virtually? In the video game we can drive faster, have better cars, and pilot instead of driving.
Wreckfest
Today, this video game is considered one of the best among fans thanks to its realism, playability and, above all, emotion. We say emotion because this game is the direct heir of the legendary Destruction Derby, that PlayStation game from the late 20th century that captivated many hearts with its vehicle combat.

Wreckfest is the arcade driving game most similar to that franchise. Developed by Bugbear, the video game blends traditional racing with destruction events. The Destruction Derby series ended its run on PlayStation back in 2004, so Bugbear has known how to seize the moment and launch its product to win over the most nostalgic players. It has been on sale since last summer and, as of 2020, it is one of the most played car video games on PlayStation 4.
Project Cars 2
This video game is the sequel to the first installment, Project Cars. This new version features better game modes, better graphics and a more competitive online mode. The start of this series for PS4 brought a revolution to the console car genre, and with this second installment the improvement has been greater than expected.

One of the virtues that makes Project Cars one of the best current car games is its vehicle roster. More than 200 cars available, 60 circuits with their respective variants, and a system that lets you modify weather parameters to give the game an almost unrivaled realism in terms of playability.
The driving level of this game is excessively high. The driving parameters are endless, allowing you to adapt your ideal driving style to the game. Every part of the car has a specific setting, and you can adjust tyres, chassis, dampers, suspension… In short, this is one of the best driving games available today.
DriveClub
Evolution Studios created this driving simulator, focused mainly on competitive online play. It is exclusive to the PlayStation 4 platform and features a world of very high graphical quality alongside real car models recreated in fine detail. It is not as demanding in terms of driving as, for example, Project Cars 2, with fewer configuration options but a very similar graphical realism.

In addition to online play, this game also has an individual career mode that is highly recommended for newcomers, before making the leap into the competitive online world, which, for better or worse, is really challenging. In any case, this title is one of the most sought-after games available today.
Need For Speed Rivals
Need For Speed is one of the most iconic franchises in the history of car video games. One of the best installments in this series today is Need For Speed Rivals, which, although not one of the most modern video games, makes it onto this list for keeping up with the gameplay on PS4.

Frenetic races, police, cars worthy of the franchise and a soundtrack as thrilling as ever. Gameplay that lives up to what its name demands. Police chases and supercars that can be customized to our liking. We still think the best installment of Need Ford Speed was Most Wanted, but on PS4 this Rivals edition is the one that best follows in the footsteps of its predecessors.
Burnout Paradise Remastered
Burnout is another of the franchises that has given us the most enjoyment in recent times. This video game is the remaster of Criterion Games’ arcade title. Its entertainment goal is unbridled destruction across city, or mountain, roads, with the possibility of performing aerial stunts more typical of motorbikes than cars.

Burnout Paradise offers a very fun environment with gameplay intact compared to the original version and one of the best soundtracks available today when it comes to car games. However, perhaps the only drawback of this game is that its graphics have not evolved as much as we would like. Other games on this list feature a visual level far superior to it.
