The Camaro chassis for sale

General Motors has come up with a very good idea: GM Performance Parts (the division in charge of GM components) will sell the Camaro chassis separately. The news may come as a surprise, but GM announced a few months ago that it would sell the Corvette ZR1 engine to private buyers starting in 2009.
Many times when someone buys a vehicle for sporting use, why pay for air conditioning, radio, or leather? In this way, GM Performance Parts puts the Camaro chassis up for sale for $7,000 (5,035 euros) and each buyer can equip it with whatever engine or components they want.
Of course, the chassis does not have a serial number, and therefore it will not be fit for road use, remaining restricted to the sporting field only. GM Performance Parts will also make a selection of customers eligible to buy its chassis, who will have to sign an agreement for the specific use of the Camaro chassis.
