The compact future of Skoda is coming soon, and this teaser shows it to us

Many brands are looking to expand their model range, with the aim of offering more choices and covering more segments of the market. In this situation is Skoda, a brand that already showed at the Paris Motor Show its clear intention to bring to life a traditional compact. With this premise, what we came to know as the Skoda Vision RS was born, a compact with sporty aspirations that aimed to bring us closer to the immediate future of the Czech brand. Now, and when no one expected it, the brand has treated us to this teaser, which hides what this future model will be.

Skoda is looking to enter a segment that is in full battle, where the Volkswagen Golf, SEAT León and Audi A3 fight hard to take the victory. However, the Czech brand has now decided to complicate the situation and challenge not only its close relatives, but also everyone else in the compact segment.

As expected, the information provided by the brand is scarce, but Skoda plans for its new compact to see the light of day before the end of the year. At the same time, the Czech brand has wanted to give us enough information to satisfy our curiosity, and it has revealed that the brand has for the first time turned to the MQB A0 platform to develop this model.

This means we will be looking at a model with dimensions similar to those of a Golf or a León, but with practical and usable interior space. With this premise, Skoda has wanted to keep its essence intact, so there will be many elements faithful to the “Simply Clever” philosophy that we will be able to see reflected in this compact, whose name is still unknown.

As for the teaser, we can make out a silhouette that hints at a traditional compact, but with drier and sharper lines that reveal part of the new design language used by Skoda. At the same time, we can see new light clusters, which will set out part of the new features of the Czech brand’s future models.

The engine options for this new compact remain a mystery to us, but given that it is based on the Skoda Vision RS, we can be sure that we will find a sporty variant. In the meantime, we will have to make do with this teaser and wait for the appointed date to get an exclusive first look at the new compact from Skoda.
