The competition pack for the new BMW M3 is now a reality

Just over a week ago we reported that BMW was reportedly preparing a competition pack for the BMW M3 E92. Well, the pack is real. BMW’s North American division has announced that the new competition package for the 2011 BMW M3 is now available. The package promises to improve the car’s handling by adding 19-inch alloy wheels, widening the rear of the model and lowering the M3’s ride height by about 10 mm thanks to new suspension.
By combining automatic damping control and dynamic stability control systems the German brand claims the M3 with the new competition pack is the most manageable M version it has ever built.
Although BMW has not announced any images of the M3 coupé or saloon fitted with the competition pack, it has revealed that the cost of the pack for either model will be around $2,500, roughly €1,800.
BMW’s recommended prices for the M3 saloon, coupé and convertible for May 2011 will remain unchanged at $56,275 (€41,000), $59,275 (€43,000) and $67,925 (€49,000), respectively; all prices include transport and import fees.
