The epic "Drift Battle" returns: Nissan GT-R vs. Lamborghini Murciélago
Monster is back with a new instalment of its famous #BATTLEDRIFT. This time, the showdown takes place in the city of London.
Since Ken Block began his journey in the famous Gymkhanas, productions of this calibre have increased considerably. The more aesthetic style of drifting has gained many followers in recent years, and for that reason there are more and more professional drivers who practise it: Vaughn Gittin Jr., Tanner Foust, Ken Block, Daigo Saito, and others.
One of the drift videos that has had the greatest impact recently – it has accumulated more than 14 million views on YouTube – is the famous #BATTLEDRIFT produced by Monster and starring Vaughn Gittin Jr. – in his Ford Mustang V8 with 5 litres (550 hp) – and Daigo Saito – behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Murciélago V12 (650 hp). On that occasion, the American and the Japanese driver took their cars to Niigata (Japan). A few months later, the battle has moved to the city of London, where Daigo Saito will have to face a new rival who is on home turf, Baggsy. The weapon of the British driver in this #BATTLEDRIFT 2 is a Nissan GT-R fitted with a modified Chevrolet V8 engine that produces a staggering 1,200 hp.

The first #BATTLEDRIFT has accumulated more than 14 million views on YouTube
Like the first instalment, #BATTLEDRIFT 2 is characterised by its spectacular, millimetre-precise slides and very well-executed choreography. However, the editing of this sequel is somewhat overloaded and, in our opinion, it lacks a bit of the action and drama seen in the first instalment; the transition from day to night in the first #BATTLEDRIFT is still very much present.
