The exotic and new Citroën SUV C3-XR remains far from Europe

The new Citroën SUV C3-XR has evolved in style and identity, a model that arrives this spring exclusively in China

Since its launch in 2014, the Citroën C3-XR, built in Wuhan, has been a successful vehicle in the Asian country, with 180,000 units sold. However, this time the French brand intends to meet the needs of Chinese consumers to a greater extent.

With the incorporation of new technologies and the Citroën identity, the new C3-XR SUV is positioned alongside the C4 Aircross and C5 Aircross as an eye-catching and affordable offer to strengthen the SUV range in China.

Citroën SUV C3-XR: avant-garde tradition

The goal of satisfying its most demanding customers in terms of comfort, safety and driving experience is reflected in the new Citroën SUV C3-XR, a model that embodies the new design codes of the French brand.

Exterior design

The renewed Citroën range includes a series of elements featured on the new C3-XR SUV, such as the more robust, more upright front end and the curved, enlarged bonnet that gives it a stronger presence.

Likewise, the new Citroën SUV C3-XR retains its strong points, such as the chrome window trim and silver roof bars. This SUV also renews its offer of 16″ diamond-cut alloy wheels in two-tone black.

At the rear, it maintains bold proportions, partly thanks to new embossed-design headlights and a silver trim that accompanies the chrome twin exhaust.

Finally, the personalisation offer available from Citroën is present with a choice of three colour combinations: white/red, ginger brown/silver and tourmaline red/silver.

Interior design

The Citroën Advanced Comfort programme was responsible for creating a project that gave users the best in design and wellbeing inside the cabin.

The new Citroën SUV C3-XR features a horizontally designed dashboard with a transverse band running from one side to the other, matching the upholstery and reinforcing the impression of interior length.

Of course, the personalisation programme is also available for the interior. Its comfortable seats offer 2 personalisation versions: one in dark grey with red accents and another in black and vintage red.

Connectivity is also worth highlighting, with features such as the new HSAE infotainment system with a 9″ floating screen and Apple CarPlay and Mirrorlink smartphone connectivity.

Lastly, it is known that the mechanics of the new Citroën SUV C3-XR will consist exclusively of petrol engines and will feature front-wheel drive. The partnership between Citroën and Dongfeng will reveal more details as the launch date approaches.
