Lamborghini Electric Cars Supercars
The first electric Lamborghini will arrive in 2028
The bull-badged brand has confirmed that it will launch its first electric Lamborghini in 2028.

Many of us thought that Lamborghini would not, for the time being, make the leap to full electrification, but some sources are already saying that in 2028 we will meet the first electric Lamborghini. It will be a large 2+2 grand tourer. In January 2022, the chief executive of the bull-badged brand already said the company would bet on a grand tourer for its electric model, “a segment that the brand” had not entered “in decades”.
The truth is that Lamborghini is better known for its mid-engined sports cars than for its grand tourers. Some of its most famous models are the Lamborghini 400 GT, the Lamborghini Espada, the Lamborghini Islero or the Lamborghini Urraco, not to mention the Lamborghini Gallardo or the Lamborghini Reventón, among others.
Now, the brand has confirmed plans to develop its first electric car. Rouven Mohr, technology director at Lamborghini, hinted earlier this year that “the supercar, we don’t think it is the right time”. He complained that the performance of electric vehicles depends too much on the state of charge and the temperature of the battery to make a convincing supercar, despite the impressive acceleration figures.
Everything we know about the future electric Lamborghini

In addition, Mohr added that in five or six years the technology will have matured to the point where the brand is ready to commit to electrification. The future grand tourer from Lamborghini will focus on the day-to-day needs of drivers, like the Lamborghini Urus.
So, the electric Lamborghini that will have grand tourer bodywork will not be a track-focused sports car nor will it post huge numbers on the circuit. The future electric Lamborghini is expected to achieve sales figures as good as the high-performance SUV, the Lamborghini Urus.
We will have to wait a little longer to learn more details about the new and first electric Lamborghini.
