The first Tesla Model 3 is here, but its production remains a problem
The first Tesla Model 3 has already left the Fremont factory (California) and arrives with some novelties we did not expect.
Although the Tesla Model 3 is not going to be produced at the pace we expected, the Elon Musk company has fulfilled part of its promises: the first unit of its star model has already rolled off the production lines, and it has done so within the planned timeframe.
A week ago, Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla) stated that the first production Model 3 would arrive last Friday. One day later, the founder of the American company posted a couple of tweets confirming his promise with several images of the first Model 3 that has left the Freemont factory (California).

The Model 3 will be available with a panoramic sunroof and a huge touchscreen

In addition to the images, the first production Model 3 has been filmed in video. The footage allows us to confirm that the electric saloon will incorporate some details we had already seen in previous prototypes, such as the huge touchscreen located inside. Another major novelty this first example features is its panoramic sunroof, an option that until now we did not know would be available for the Model 3.

Who will own the first unit?
Paradoxically, the first Model 3 in history will go to the owner of the American company, Elon Musk. Initially, the car was going to belong to the person who made the first deposit, Ira Ehrenpreis (board member of Tesla and one of the brand’s first investors), but Ira himself decided to donate that privilege to the project leader.
Ira Ehrenpreis had rights to 1st car as he was 1st to place a full deposit, but gave those rights to me as my 46th bday present. Tks Ira!

Only 30 units of the Model 3 will be manufactured in its first month of production
Tesla’s plans involve producing a total of 30 units of the Model 3 by the end of the month, although the planned production rate from now until year-end may fall well below expectations; everything suggests that half of the planned units will be manufactured. In any case, the American company will deliver the first examples of the Model 3 at a special event to be held on July 28.
The Model 3 has all the ingredients to be a true “bestseller”
We recall that the Tesla Model 3 will offer a range of around 350 km – although it could reach 500 km – and will cost 31,300 euros.
As announced in the famous “anti-sales campaign” of the Model 3, the entry-level saloon will have a much more limited personalisation offer than that of the Tesla Model S; the new electric model from Tesla will have only 100 different configurations, while the Model S offers more than 1,500. This shortfall in personalisation options for the Model 3 is due to the company’s intention to accelerate its production at all costs, so it would not be surprising if in the future we see new equipment options for the brand’s most affordable saloon.
