The car built by Galpin Ford and the father of the original Mustang, Lee Iacocca, was officially presented a few hours ago in California to an select group of 300 personalities and several media outlets.

As reported when the debut of the Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Special Edition was announced last month, tonight six units were auctioned immediately after its launch.

Although bidding started at a base of $80,000, the final price rose to $125,000. The bidding became interesting from the first minutes, as two people kept pushing relentlessly until, after 15 minutes, a third bidder sealed the purchase.

The car, characterized by the power of its engine V8 of 320 horsepower , enjoys a special high-performance package that improves all the car’s qualities. However, users have the option to equip the muscle car with a 400 CV engine and 20-inch wheels.

According to the information provided to the media, only 39 units remain, of which 70 percent already have a buyer while the others calmly await their future owner.
