Mitsubishi Electric Cars Concepts Industry
The future electric cars from Mitsubishi could go on sale in New Zealand

The Japanese company, in collaboration with its New Zealand subsidiary and the state-owned electricity company Meridian Energy, will showcase the i MiEV electric concept on a promotional tour around the country after February 2009.
The aim of Mitsubishi and Meridian is to build public awareness of electric cars by showing their benefits, so as to later introduce some models to the local market.
For this reason, government representatives will have the opportunity to drive the car in order to stimulate debate on possible subsidies as well as on the development of infrastructure and transport.
In addition, the Japanese company would take advantage of the fact that the steering wheels of cars in New Zealand are located in the same position as those used in Japan.
For this reason, Mitsubishi sees the island nation as a likely candidate for the early introduction of its zero-emission electric cars, provided market conditions are favourable.
