The Geely CK1 Sets a Record for Poor Safety: 0 Stars

If you own a Geely CK1, I would recommend not using it much or, at the very least, not driving above 60 km/h. I base this advice on the results of the crash tests that LatinNCAP has published on this model.

A frontal impact at 64 km/h in this car means death or injuries so severe that you would be better off dead. The result of this appalling protection is that it earned no stars at all. Yes, that’s right, 0 stars.

The Geely CK1 has no airbags and you might think that this is one of the causes of such a poor result, which is logical, but you would be mistaken. According to LatinNCAP, “Fitting airbags to this car would not improve the weak structural integrity of the body.” But there is more, since the CK1 “has an airbag switch but does NOT HAVE an airbag; this device can confuse consumers into thinking they have a car with airbags when in reality that is not the case.”

The images and video I’ve included below are chilling and make you think long and hard about whether it is worth saving a few euros at the cost of compromising our safety. It is paradoxical that Geely is currently the owner of one of the brands that most boasts about the safety of its vehicles, Volvo.

Increíble que exista un vehículo así… solo con autoridades muy corruptas puede salir algo como esto al mercado…
