The Alfa Romeo Giulia and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2020 will be equipped with Level 2 autonomous driving technology, among other new features.

Shortly after being unveiled in China, the Alfa Romeo Giulia and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2020 were presented with North American specifications at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The changes begin on the exterior. Both the Stelvio 2020 and the Giulia 2020 get a body-colour appearance kit for the Sport models. In addition, the Sport models can be specified with a Dark Miron kit that features marked wheel arches, sill covers and a rear fascia in a darkened painted finish. A carbon-fibre exterior pack is also available. The new paint options include Anodized Blue, Lunare White and the legendary Visconti Green of the Italian brand.

The interiors have also been updated. One of the most significant updates is the installation of a new standard 8.8-inch central touchscreen that includes a large number of new performance pages and, at the same time, offers digital HVAC and other controls. Users can also customise the home screen by selecting their ideal layout. A 12-month trial of SiriusXM radio is also included as standard on all models.

In addition, Alfa Romeo has redesigned the standard 7-inch TFT instrument cluster screen of the Giulia and Stelvio with a new layout and improved graphics. The screen has also been updated to provide real-time data for the driver.

A new centre console has also been developed for the duo, featuring a machined rotary dial with an aluminium-look finish, improved knob materials and greater storage capacity. There is also a small Italian flag placed at the base of the gear lever. The Italian carmaker has also enlarged the cup holders and incorporated wireless phone charging. Other modifications include a new gear lever of premium quality, leather-wrapped, and a racing-inspired steering wheel.

Complementing the wide range of interior improvements is a Level 2 autonomous driving system that includes road assistance, the James traffic assistance system, traffic sign recognition, lane keeping assist, active blind-spot assist, driver attention alert and the standard maximum-speed forward collision warning. Other updates include a WiFi hotspot, a mobile app with remote operations, vehicle finder, stolen vehicle locator and assistance, as well as over-the-air updates for the vehicle’s firmware.

Prices for the Alfa Romeo Giulia 2020 start at around 40,000 euros, while the Stelvio 2020 starts at around 42,000 euros.
