The INEOS Grenadier could offer an electric or hydrogen fuel cell version
Deliveries of the INEOS Grenadier have not yet begun, but the company has already announced its intention to offer an electric version.

A few months ago we started reading about a new off-roader, capable of tackling any terrain and efficient in any situation. The INEOS Grenadier is the proposal from the British petrochemical company INEOS and has generated considerable interest among enthusiasts of this type of vehicle. The first units will begin arriving in Spain this summer, although the company has previewed upcoming news regarding this off-roader.
It was a company executive who revealed this news in a British publication. According to his words, the off-roader aims to expand its capabilities by adding electric mobility to its lineup. So, the Grenadier will possibly get an electric variant soon.

Electric or fuel cell variant
It is not the only option being considered for this new variant. The company is weighing two solutions to achieve sustainable mobility and eliminate the combustion engine. The first would involve a battery pack with an electric motor. This combination would allow the off-roader to move freely without generating polluting emissions.
However, this has a serious drawback: the excessive weight of the batteries. This extra weight would compromise the Grenadier’s range and make it less efficient than expected. So there is a second route, which seems more feasible. This is the hydrogen fuel cell system.
With this option, the weight problem would be eliminated and it would be more efficient. Using hydrogen as fuel is more effective, will avoid mobility problems and will offer the vehicle greater range. In fact, INEOS has announced that it is already testing a fuel cell variant, but this would not be ready until 2027 at the earliest.
The off-roader is currently sold in two variants: a commercial version with two and five seats and a five-seat version for private use. A pick-up version with a double cab is also expected, which will be larger in size.
