The 2014 Paris Motor Show will be the stage chosen by Infiniti to present its new saloon, the Infiniti Q70, which will arrive in Europe following in the wake of the Q50. This new version will feature important changes over its predecessor, both aesthetically and in terms of equipment, not to mention changes to the engines it uses.

The exterior has some changes that define it as a new, updated version, with a double-arch grille that was already seen on the Infiniti Q50. The front and rear bumpers are more pronounced, and the headlights have a shape that helps create the impression that they form part of a face. In addition, they feature LED technology, introduced on this new model, as well as the rear lights.

Inside, external noise has been reduced thanks to modifications to its structure. This reduces the sound impact of wind and tyres. The function of the shock absorbers has also been improved, and 18-inch alloy wheels have been fitted.

A new 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine is introduced, a four-cylinder unit delivering 167 CV and a torque of 400 Nm, available across a range from 1,600 to 2,800 rpm. The brand’s 1,800-psi solenoid injectors and a variable-geometry compressor improve response time and reduce consumption.

It also features Direct Response Technology hybrid technology and an improved dual-clutch system. A new propulsion management software has also been included which, working together with the other aids, considerably reduces consumption.

In terms of safety, the car is equipped with the Around View Monitor (AVM), a system that, thanks to a set of sensors, cameras and lasers placed around the vehicle, monitors blind spots in city traffic and assists with parking.

Furthermore, it will be a highly connected model, as it can synchronise with a smartphone, and it has 12 V outlets located at several points in the cabin and the boot area. The car will reach the European market in December 2014.
