The Kia Carnival presents its new version for 2024... in Korea

The popular Korean MPV presents its new version in South Korea, with interesting new features but has not yet prepared its return to Spain.

Although it was quite popular in the Spanish market, the Kia Carnival stopped being sold a few years ago. But in Korea it still enjoys enviable health, and the new generation of this family vehicle has been unveiled, which will arrive in 2024. In fact, the launch of this new generation of the Carnival will take place at the end of this month, so that it is one of the renewed models for 2024.

The aesthetic novelties of this new Kia Carnival begin with the front grille. It is larger and offers a more imposing appearance. Alongside this new grille there are vertical headlights, which give it a fairly modern and attractive look. The daytime running lights are designed in the Star Map style, which also helps create a very distinctive light signature.

At the rear it also has several changes, such as new rear lights with vertical elements. The bumper design is also new, as is the tailgate. The handle that the previous version had has been removed to give the whole a cleaner look.

In addition, customers who want a more exclusive touch can choose the Gravity package, which has a darker styling. This version features a unique grille, black side steps, decorative details in the same colour, and exclusive wheels also finished in black.

Newly designed interior

Although the interior may appear to be the same, there are important changes inside. Some elements have been changed and a curved floating panoramic screen stands out. This consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the multimedia screen, of the same size.

The centre console has been revised, with new switches and a rotary gear selector. New ambient lighting, fingerprint identification and a UV-C sterilisation system have also been incorporated. In front of the driver there is an 11-inch Head-Up Display that clearly shows driving data. The information and entertainment system works with voice recognition using the voice command “Hey Kia“.

Driving assistance

This new Kia Carnival includes several ADAS systems that assist driving, including front and rear collision warning. It also features Highway Driving Assist 2, which adds safety elements such as high beam assist, a safe exit assist, lane keeping and automatic remote parking, among other things.

Engines

The Kia Carnival debuts a 1.6-litre turbocharged hybrid engine. Combined output is 242 CV and maximum torque is 367 Nm. Consumption is 7.1 litres per 100 kilometres. It will also be available with a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 3.5-litre V6, which although not confirmed, is expected to deliver 290 CV.

The renewed family vehicle will be available in Korea from around 25,000 euros at the current exchange rate. Unfortunately, there is no news of its return to the Spanish market, although this type of vehicle seems to be becoming interesting again in various European countries.
