The Kia Cee'd gets an update for the second quarter

The Kia Cee’d gains a little more practicality and a facelift for the 2012 model year, which will go on sale at European dealerships in the second quarter.

The Kia Cee’d has received a modest update as part of what will be the 2012 range. This facelift includes several exterior details that the engineers at Kia have worked on to give the Korean saloon a bit more presence, as well as a revised interior ergonomics layout.

Chrome is back in fashion. After a period of “no shine” in the automotive world, other models and now the same Kia Cee’d feature more chrome detailing on the bodywork, most notably along the window edges.

Although the grille has changed its original shape almost imperceptibly, its chrome surround has become more understated, which takes away some of the final aggressiveness of the overall look. However, Kia has reshaped the bonnet, giving it a slightly more muscular appearance.

The headlight shapes have changed, now featuring an extension towards the A-pillar, which is very fashionable these days. Otherwise, the fog lights now have chrome surrounds. As for the rear, we will have to wait a little longer, as Kia has not yet shown us the rear end of the model.

Moving on to the interior, the dashboard has been relocated to improve ergonomics for driver and passenger. The interior materials are of higher quality and the finishing is better executed, according to Kia, which will bring this new Cee’d to European dealerships in the second quarter of the year.
