Interior of the new Audi A3 revealed

Audi has just unveiled the first photos and details of the interior of the new generation Audi A3

Little by little the new generation of the Audi A3 is making its presence felt, and on this occasion, to coincide with a stand the German brand has at the CES in Las Vegas, where it wants to showcase its latest technological innovations, it has decided to bring along and display no less than the complete dashboard of its new compact.

As far as we can see, at least what Audi has wanted us to see, the new Audi A3 will feature higher-quality materials for its interior, as well as a renewed and, in my view, much more attractive design. In this regard we cannot forget that its designers are German, for better and for worse.

As for details and novelties, we have to talk, for example, about the new instrument cluster, this time angled towards the driver to improve both visibility and access to the instruments. Secondly, it is worth highlighting the inclusion of a new MMI system, which was really needed, featuring a larger knob as well as a high-quality touchscreen.

Precisely, and speaking of the latter, we have to mention an enormous leap in hardware and software thanks to the agreement the company signed with none other than Nvidia, the creators of the “new modular infotainment platform” installed in the new Audi A3.

This system will feature a dedicated dual-core Tegra 2 processor running at 1.2 GHz. Enough to reliably offer new options such as internet in the car, and a much faster, more complete and, above all, more flexible navigation and Bluetooth system. Later on, the system will be upgraded with the new quad-core Tegra 3 processors at 1.4 GHz that the company is about to present.

On the other hand, the Audi A3 will also offer a complete heads-up display system with advanced graphics. According to Audi, when the car “approaches an intersection with the navigation system active, the driver will see a transparent arrow indicating the route on the outside of the vehicle, placed precisely at the real intersection. As we get closer, the arrow will grow until it takes the shape and colour of an arrow painted on the road“.
