The KIA EV9 previews its silhouette ahead of its official unveiling

Following the previews published throughout the first quarter of 2022, KIA has officially released the first teaser images of the production-ready version of its long-awaited KIA EV9, a large seven-seat SUV that will become the flagship 100% electric model of the Korean brand.

With its official presentation set for January 12, the KIA EV9 will make its debut at the Auto Expo 2023 in India, so KIA has decided to offer us a small preview of its new large SUV, showing both the side profile of the model and its front, along with some other exterior details, keeping practically intact the image with which the prototype was presented to us at the end of March.

Strong visual presence

Starting with the analysis of the two published photographs, the KIA EV9 will feature very pronounced and fairly rectangular shapes despite being a fully electric vehicle, marking a major contrast with its smaller sibling, the KIA EV6.

Until the exact dimensions of the model are known, the KIA EV9 suggests that it could comfortably exceed the length of the Sorento, the model currently positioned as the largest in KIA’s range with a length of 4,810 mm. Its long, horizontal bonnet, its generous roof and the pronounced shapes of its wheel arches give it a strong presence, complemented by the avant-garde design of its front and rear light signatures.

The largest and most technological

The front view, although only partially revealed, allows us to make out “L”-shaped light clusters, a fully closed grille featuring small LEDs that will illuminate its gaze, and a bumper that appears to include a silver-coloured section to hint at its more rugged side.

With all this, we only have to wait a few days to finally meet this major launch from the Korean brand. A model that opens the year making clear the roadmap the brand will follow in 2023 to turn its range fully electric.
