The Kia Soul is no longer sold in Spain

Just as a new generation of the Kia Soul was about to reach international markets in 2014, with a new redesign, we have now received the news that the model will no longer be sold in Spain. The reasons behind the Korean brand’s decision are none other than the low sales of the model in our country.
Throughout last year only 88 units of the Soul were sold, something no brand can tolerate. It was being sold in Spain, following the renewal presented at the start of last year, at a price of just over 18,000 euros for the GDI Drive version.
The model’s exit will not be covered by a new launch; it has simply been removed from the catalogue without further ado. It no longer even appears on the Kia Motors website in Spain.
Curiously, Kia is preparing an electric version of the Soul that would be sold in Europe from next year, even though the Kia Ray (the electric model it sells in its home country) is not exactly a sales hit in Korea itself. This rather peculiar strategy from Kia with regard to the Soul, with an electric version in the works and an annual renewal plan begun with last year’s model, does not seem to be the most orthodox approach in the world and looks more like the desperate flailing of a drowning man as far as the Soul is concerned.
