The Kia Sportage is presented in Europe with a new look and previews its first details
Kia renews one of its most important models and presents it for Europe: the new Sportage, which will arrive in the third quarter of 2025

For Kia the Sportage is one of its most important models, if not the first in the compact SUV market, a position perfectly backed by the more than seven million units sold worldwide since its market launch. Now Kia introduces the Sportage to the European market, one of the most important for this model, with a renewed look and technology.
We have already seen this in the brand’s recent presentations, and the new Sportage was not going to be an exception, adopting the new design language Opposites United of Kia. This translates into a completely redesigned front end that combines smooth surfaces with soft lines alongside other sharper ones, giving it a more robust and imposing presence.

The Tiger Nose grille, a characteristic feature of Kia, undergoes slight design changes influenced by everything around it, such as the new LED headlights, presented with the distinctive “Star Map” light signature, as well as a new bumper whose lower section incorporates a new air intake design with more prominent trim pieces at the ends. On the sides, new wheel designs are fitted in 17, 18 and 19-inch sizes, the last two for the GT-Line and GT-Line S trims, and at the rear the light cluster has a new design that joins and sharpens the width even further alongside the new bumper.

Moving inside, the GT-Line and GT-Line S trims offer a more elegant cabin thanks to the combination of white and black in their upholstery, using artificial leather and suede. In any case, all versions increase seat comfort and feature novelties such as the new two-spoke steering wheel and hidden air vents to achieve a minimalist, elegant look. The cabin also remains just as comfortable and spacious; proof of this is the more than one metre of legroom in the rear row and the 587-litre boot, expandable to 1,776 litres with the seats folded, not forgetting the double boot floor on the hybrid version.

At the technology level, the new Kia Sportage stands out for its two curved 12.3-inch panoramic screens and a new 10-inch Head-Up Display. Together, these make all the information and driver functions easy to identify at a glance. Connectivity is enhanced by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA updates, and options such as a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to five devices, a wireless charging pad, and 360º Surround View with 3D view, among many others.

From its European launch, the new Kia Sportage will be available with a T-GDI petrol engine, a 1,600 cc turbo unit delivering 150 CV, which can be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, in both cases sending power to the front axle. The other option is the full hybrid, also based on the 1,600 cc T-GDI, which, thanks to the electric component, raises combined output to 239 CV and is paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The new Kia Sportage is built at the company’s plant in Žilina, Slovakia, and will reach dealerships from the third quarter of this 2025, so we will not have to wait long to learn full prices and equipment for the Spanish market.
