The Maserati MC20 Cielo will be unveiled on May 25

On May 25 we will get to know the new Maserati MC20 Cielo. It is the convertible version of its Maserati MC20. The trident brand says the name should be considered as a whole: MC20 Cielo stands for Maserati Corse, while the 20 represents 2020, the year its new era began; Cielo “highlights the fact that it is a model dedicated to the pleasure of driving outdoors while retaining all the characteristics of a true supercar”.

Further details are unknown, but Maserati has already shown the car in camouflage. Fittingly, the camouflage was sky blue and covered in white clouds, so the carmaker has been hinting at the name for some time. Nevertheless, the trident brand has published a video on its official Instagram profile that revealed some of its secrets. Are you going to miss it?

Everything we know about the new Maserati MC20 Cielo

Some leaked images showed some of the modifications the manufacturer had made to the bodywork to turn it into a convertible. We are talking about the roof structure, rear side windows and an updated rear end. Like the coupé, the bodywork of the Maserati MC20 Cielo is made of carbon fibre.

This will allow the sports car to reduce its weight, and it is expected to use the same powertrain. The 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine of the Maserati MC20 delivers 630 CV and a maximum torque of 730 Nm. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. Its top speed is 325 km/h.

Furthermore, everything points to a fully electric version of the Maserati MC20 Cielo possibly arriving. We will have to wait until May 25 to learn all the secrets of the new model from the trident brand.
