In recent years we have been seeing the demand for small cars with an SUV look grow, and consequently the range of brands’ offerings has also increased to meet the wishes of enthusiasts of this type of car. On the market we have models such as the Nissan Juke, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, the Suzuki Vitara, the Jeep Renegade, the recent Fiat 500X and the Honda HR-V, and now they are joined by the Mazda CX-3.

Of course, the most popular model of this type is the Nissan Juke, and all similar models seek to compete with it and take a slice of the commercial pie that it dominates in countries such as Spain. To do so, Mazda will present the CX-3 on November 19 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. What we are not yet clear on is whether this will be the final model, the one we will soon see at the brand’s dealerships, or whether it will be a prototype that still undergoes some modifications.

So far, Mazda has not wanted to give any specifications for this new compact SUV. That means we will have to wait a few weeks to get all the information about this model, which will be the brand’s main trump card in Los Angeles.

We can make some assumptions, such as that it will share the technological base of the Mazda2, since its reduced size lends itself to this. As for engines, it could share the engines fitted to this model. It will have Euro 6 homologation and a power output that will range between 95 and 115 CV. All of this, of course, should be taken as assumptions, not confirmed facts, since we do not yet know the details.

You can see a teaser at the top of the article and also in the following video, which the brand has kindly shared to make us eager to learn all the details of the Mazda CX-3. By the way, this model will arrive in Europe during 2015, and then we will see whether it repeats the success of the CX-5.
