At the legendary Balocco test circuit, located in Milan, where the roar of Alfa Romeo engines has left its mark throughout history, the team of Italian engineers is fine-tuning the last details of the long-awaited Alfa Romeo Milano, a vehicle that promises to take electric excellence to a new level and, this time, they are showing it to us on home turf.

This will be the launch of its first 100% electric SUV, which will be named “Milano”. The choice of name is no coincidence; it is a tribute to the brand’s birthplace, the city of Milan, where everything began on June 24, 1910.

Mark your calendars for April 10, because the exciting world premiere of the Alfa Romeo Milano is scheduled for that date. The Balocco test circuit has become the epicentre of this vehicle’s development, which will mark Alfa Romeo’s entry into the exciting world of 100% electric cars.

All of this has been carried out thanks to the incredible team and experience of Domenico Bagnasco, responsible for validating the vehicle’s dynamic essence. The Milano is gradually being perfected with the best team, the same one that brought to life incredible models such as the 8C, the 4C, and the unforgettable Giulia GTA.

From diesel to electric

The team’s focus is on achieving an unmistakable driving dynamic, as proven by the precise interventions they have made to the suspension. The goal remains a unique driving experience, backed by direct and precise steering geometry, ensuring fast corners with exceptional grip.

Leading the project is Stefano Cereda, a prominent figure in Alfa Romeo’s history, who was responsible for developing the diesel engines of the Giulia and Stelvio, but now Cereda takes on the challenge of the Milano after his approval of the Tonale’s plug-in hybrid engine.

However, the technical direction of the Milano is in the hands of Luigi Domenichelli, an expert Italian engineer in charge of integrating and validating all of the vehicle’s subsystems. His task is monumental: ensuring the performance, durability and comfort of the Milano.

With the arrival of the Milano in 2024, Alfa Romeo completes its range, a range that began in 2022 with the launch of the Tonale Hybrid and the Plug-In Hybrid Q4. Later, in 2023, Alfa Romeo returned to the world of “bespoke cars”, presenting the 33 Stradale (BEV – ICE) and, finally, in 2024 we will witness the debut of the brand’s first 100% electric model (Alfa Romeo Milano), the first of a range that seeks the perfect combination of sportiness and Italian design and demonstrates the brand’s transition to electricity.
