The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV starts patrolling the streets of Ukraine

The fleets of state security forces are constantly being renewed, seeking to offer citizens the best possible service. That is why it does not surprise us that from time to time we receive news that a certain police force has acquired several units to supplement its fleets. And when we see that they are opting for hybrid units, it is even more interesting. This is the case of the Ukrainian police, which has opted for the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, which has been added on a large scale to the car fleet of that force.

In total, 635 units of this hybrid model have been presented as the new members of the police car fleet, which has made this delivery the largest ever made of a plug-in hybrid car by Mitsubishi, surpassing the previous one, consisting of 507 units of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, delivered to the government of Estonia in 2011.

The choice of this type of vehicle shows that both the brands and the governments of certain countries are committed to campaigns to reduce polluting gas emissions. These small gestures help make city streets less polluted, at least as far as official vehicles are concerned.

The model has several advantages over conventional combustion-engine cars, among which a consumption of 1.7 litres of fuel per 100 km stands out, something very attractive for an official car fleet, which always pays close attention to the cost of fuel. In terms of fully electric range, it is 54 kilometres, which may also be of interest, especially for city driving.

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has been the best-selling plug-in hybrid across the European continent over the last four years. In Spain it has also been the sales leader, and worldwide 80,768 units have been sold.
