The MOVELE Project slows down until July

At least in the early stages of electric car adoption worldwide, the change is not happening as quickly as many expected, partly because there is not enough infrastructure, due to lack of awareness, some doubts about the new technology and, to a large extent, the economic crisis. In Spain, the MOVELE Plan has developed at the same pace as similar projects around the world.
So far, 718 applications to purchase electric cars have been submitted, with 132 applications rejected or withdrawn. Thus, the total amount of aid to which these 586 electric vehicles sold are entitled amounts to €1.82 million.
For the time being, aid has been paid for 272 vehicles, totalling €1.04 million, while payment of incentives for the remaining 314 vehicles, amounting to €784,632, is being processed. Of this total of sales, only 84 orders came from private individuals.
As can be seen, there is still a long way to go to use up the €8 million earmarked for the MOVELE Plan. The Ministry of Industry wants there to be one million electric or hybrid cars on the road in our country by 2014. Will they achieve it?
