Mazda will also be present at SEMA 2016 with two versions created by its own designers, who have their workshop in California. This shows that its own team can offer the demanding buyers of its models everything they need or want for their car.

Mazda MX-5 has been celebrating for a couple of years now, since it marked its first 25 years on the market. Since 2014, several versions have arrived with important new features to make the most of this model. Now comes the SEMA, which will open its doors on 1 November and will display several spectacular models that have been customised by the main companies specialising in this type of service.

Among them, you will be able to see two customised Mazda MX-5s with details that make them something completely different. Each one maintains the spirit of the MX-5, but uses customisation elements that make them unique. Two models that have passed through the hands of these customisation artisans, who took two versions and gave them their own touch.

Mazda MX-5 Speedster Evolution

This variant gets its name because it is based on the Speedster that was presented last year. The bodywork has been finished in White Ether, which already gives it a very bright and pleasing look. Its features include a weight reduction of 45 kg compared with the model it is based on. Although the mechanics are the same, its lower weight and lighter soft top help to enhance the image of the car that will be shown at SEMA.

Mazda MX-5 RF Kuro

The other model is based on the Retractable Fastback version, which is not yet available. It will reach the market next year, 2017, and this version has a semi-matte metallic carbon tone as its bodywork finish. This makes sense, because Kuro is the Japanese word for charcoal. It is fitted with a set of 17-inch wheels with tyres specific to the model and the same suspension used by the MX-5 Cup Series, which considerably improves the car’s handling.

Both models have been transformed by the brand’s design team, based in Irvine, California, to demonstrate that the company itself can offer everything the customer needs… or wants for their car.
