The mysterious Citroën 2CV is called REVOLTe and will be a plug-in hybrid

A few days ago we told you that Citroën was preparing a surprise for the Frankfurt Motor Show, a model with a design very similar to the 2CV but with a modern character, and it was supposed to be an electric model. Well, now with the press release in hand, we can confirm that this concept will be called REVOLTe.
According to Citroën, it defines it as a luxury urbanite. We don’t know if we are looking at an upcoming model in the DS range, but the REVOLTe will be a small, bold and elegant model, embracing luxury. The REVOLTe opts for a plug-in hybrid propulsion mode. By prioritising electric mode, this technology gives the model greater agility.

Its dimensions are those of an urbanite, measuring 3.68 metres in length, with an attractive design and low height. The concept has doors with counter-hinged opening that make access easier. In the interior it has three seats wrapped in leather and materials of the highest quality, featuring a front seat and a rear bench (right where the batteries are placed).
On the exterior, the roof is covered with photovoltaic cells, which ensure the electrical functions associated with comfort even with the vehicle parked, and in the interior there is also a good amount of technology: the touchscreen on board is framed by a set of intense red glass panels that literally project the touchscreen into the cabin.
