The new Hyundai Kona earns five stars in Euro NCAP
The new Hyundai Kona has received five stars from Euro NCAP thanks to its high level of safety. Its new technology also stands out considerably.

SUVs are achieving high sales volumes and today you can find this type of vehicle in any brand. At the same time, they are present in practically every segment, which allows for a wide range of options. One type of SUV that is standing out considerably is the one in the B-segment. They are presented as comfortable, versatile, economical and, at the same time, safe vehicles. We can see this reflected in one of the newest SUVs, the Hyundai Kona.
The new SUV from the Korean brand has faced the tough tests of Euro NCAP with the aim of demonstrating its level of safety. The Kona’s final rating has been outstanding and, to certify it, the SUV has been awarded five stars. Both in active and passive safety the Hyundai Kona has stood out considerably. But this is not the only thing that makes the Korean SUV so special.
The Hyundai Kona also stands out notably for the technology it incorporates. This is reflected not only in the entertainment area but also as a new safety component. The Euro NCAP team has paid close attention to this aspect and the lane-keeping system it has developed stands out above all Hyundai.

This system is called LKAS and warns the driver if the vehicle detects unsafe movements at more than 60 km/h and irregular positions within the lane. The Kona intervenes with an alarm, which lets the driver know that they must correct the vehicle’s trajectory. At the same time, should this not happen, the Hyundai Kona itself will take care of preventing the drift.
It is also worth highlighting the frontal collision system (FCA), which offers the possibility of performing an emergency braking to avoid an accident. It achieves this thanks to a radar fitted in the front and to the camera sensors. The Kona first warns the driver with an alarm; if the driver does not have time to react, the vehicle autonomously actuates the brake pedal. It also works with pedestrians and any type of obstacle.

Without a doubt, the new Hyundai Kona stands out as one of the most sought-after vehicles on the market, thanks to its attractive and eye-catching styling and its high level of safety. Its price also helps it position itself as one of the best-selling SUVs. The new Kona starts from 18,990 euros.
