The new Mitsubishi Outlander will arrive in Europe in 2024 with many new features

The new flagship of Mitsubishi will reach the old continent next 2024 with a renewed design and the latest in safety, comfort and technology

Following the discontinuation of its third generation from the Mitsubishi product line-up in 2021, the new and long-awaited Outlander PHEV will land in Europe in 2024, as confirmed by the brand itself, thereby expanding its commercial offering with what will once again become its flagship.

Pending further official details such as the range composition, equipment and design, Mitsubishi has previewed that its new Outlander PHEV will display its most characteristic design features of robust, pronounced lines along its bodywork, also featuring the three-diamond logo at the front and the so-called “Hexaguard Horizon”, which adds hexagonal rear lights at the rear.

Regarding its mechanical side, the new Outlander PHEV will feature a specific European adaptation of the second generation of its plug-in hybrid system, based on the electric vehicle technology of Mitsubishi “Twin Motor 4WD” and “Super-All Wheel Control”, and which will also exceed 100 kilometres of maximum range in fully electric mode.

A key launch for the brand

Since its debut in the European market back in 2013, more than 200,000 units have been sold, and it has earned more than 20 awards for its design and technology in the last two years alone. In fact, Frank Krol, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Europe, highlighted the more than 500,000 units sold in Europe since the launch of its first generation in 2003.

Manuel Slavadores, General Manager of Mitsubishi in Spain, has also shown great enthusiasm for the importance of this news, which will allow the brand to keep growing with a product that has been a benchmark in electrification since the start of its commercialisation.

Following the Mitsubishi ASX presented in 2022 and the new COLT arriving in 2023, the new Outlander will also feature the latest driver assistance and infotainment technologies to boast a high level of safety and comfort and, in this way, to rival its toughest competitors in the D-SUV segment.
