Kia will present the new redesign of the Picanto at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, which marks its 85th edition, and for which less than a month remains. The city car from the Korean brand, belonging to the A-segment, will reveal its new look and further details will also be disclosed regarding equipment and technology.

On the outside, the design is now much more striking. The front features the “tiger nose” grille, at the top, which is so characteristic of the new Kia models. The new front and rear lights have the option of being fitted with LED lights. The bumpers have also been redesigned to create a more elegant look that stands out from the other rivals in its segment. It also features 14” alloy wheels and the option of fitting an optional Sport Pack, which gives it a much sportier feel.

The different interior ambiences, together with other details such as the chrome trim on the air vents and around the instrument panel, allow the interior to be personalised to the customer’s taste. For example, the Sporty Pack combines black synthetic leather and fabric in reddish tones with glossy finishes for the door panels. The Trendy Pack combines synthetic leather and fabric, both in black tones, with yellow stitching on the seats, as well as a bright yellow dashboard and trim on the steering wheel. In both optional ambiences, the lighting in the lower area is coordinated according to which one is chosen.

In the technology section, it is worth highlighting the range of optional Premium devices with which the equipment of the Kia Picanto can be completed. The cruise control with speed limiter and the 7” touchscreen navigation system and parking assist camera are two examples of what customers can find if they do not settle for the basics.

The 1.0-litre MPI engine with Multi-Point Injection, has been revised and therefore incorporates modifications that make it more efficient, and it also complies with the demanding and strict Euro 6 emissions regulations.

This new Kia Picanto model, which is manufactured at the company’s facilities in Seosan (Korea), will go on sale in Europe at the end of March 2015 and will come with the exclusive Kia 7-year or 150,000-kilometre warranty.
