The new Seat Ibiza is the most spacious vehicle in its segment
The new Seat Ibiza is larger and more comfortable than its predecessor. It is the first vehicle in the VAG group to debut the MQB A0 platform.
The Spanish car company presented the fifth generation of the SEAT Ibiza yesterday in Barcelona. The popular compact will debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The new model will go on sale in our country starting in June and is the first model in the VAG Group to debut the MQB A0 modular platform. Building the new Ibiza on this platform results in a notable increase in its interior living space and comfort. The new compact is 87 mm wider than its predecessor. Rear seat knee room has grown by 35 mm, while front seat headroom has increased by 24 mm. In addition, its boot offers a capacity of 355 litres (63 litres more than the previous version). These figures make the new SEAT Ibiza the most spacious model in its class.

The new compact’s exterior design stands out for its triangular Full LED headlights at the front. The longer wheelbase gives the new Ibiza a more robust and muscular appearance compared with its predecessor. In reality, its dimensions are increasingly similar to those of its bigger sibling, the Seat León.
The new Seat Ibiza will be available with three engine options during the first months of sale. The petrol range will consist of a three-cylinder 1.0 TSI petrol engine with 95 or 115 CV. It will also feature a 1.6 TDI diesel engine offering 80, 95 and 115 CV. Finally, it will incorporate a novel 1.0 TGI 90 CV engine powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). This is the first engine of this type offered in the compact segment. Additionally, the new Ibiza will also incorporate the new four-cylinder 1.5 TSI with 150 CV, at the end of 2017.

The fifth generation of the Seat Ibiza features the latest in comfort and safety technology. The Spanish compact offers driver assistance systems such as the Front Assist system, Traffic Jam Assist, adaptive cruise control (ACC), as well as a new generation of front and rear parking sensors. It also features a keyless entry and start system, a higher-quality rear-view camera and an 8-inch touchscreen.
In terms of connectivity, the new SEAT Ibiza incorporates the latest innovations in its segment through three options: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. The new Spanish compact also offers a sound system by Beats Audio with 7 speakers and an amplifier that together deliver a total output of 300 watts.

The Seat Ibiza was first launched in 1984. To date, it is the most successful model in the brand’s history, with more than 5.4 million units sold since its creation.
