The next generation of the Nissan Note could be manufactured in Barcelona

Nissan Spain continues negotiating, practically against the clock, an agreement with its workers’ unions to secure the production of a new model at the Zona Franca in Barcelona. That model could be the future next generation of the Nissan Note, even though in our country Nissan only builds SUVs and commercial vehicles.
If the Note is finally built in Barcelona, the plant would receive an investment of 130 million euros and would reach 200,000 units produced in a year, close to its production capacity limit. The Note would add 80,000 units produced annually to those already made at the Catalan plant.
But for all of this to happen, an agreement must be reached with the union. Nissan intends to have several pay scales, with a cap of 29,000 euros in annual salary, but with more working hours per year, while the union does not accept differentiated pay scales.
Originally the Nissan Note was going to be built in Great Britain. However, the arrival at the Sunderland plant of the first Infiniti model to be built in Europe has led Nissan to look for another site to build the new Note. That site appears to be the Barcelona plant, although it must also be said that nothing is definitive yet.

Es una nueva generación claramente muy, muy cambiada. Pero la buena noticia es que se fabrique en nuestro país. Ojalá se acabe confirmando
