The Rolls-Royce diesel and a definitive

Rolls-Royce has decided to cancel any future model that has diesel engines or becomes an SUV, as the brand’s customers have decided so through a survey.

Faced with the prospect of Rolls-Royce launching a future model with diesel engines and the alternative offered by the respective fashionable SUV, one can imagine that the engineers at Rolls-Royce have considered creating a dedicated variant of each. However, in a brand like this one, the customer’s opinion is worth more than gold.

And the best example is the decision the aristocratic brand has made regarding future models, thanks to a opinion survey among its customers. In that survey, customers stated that they do not want a diesel engine “anywhere near any Rolls-Royce” and that they wouldn’t buy one for all the world.

And since Bentley and Aston Martin will have their respective SUVs, it wouldn’t have been far-fetched to wake up one day to the news that Rolls-Royce would have one too. It seems that, once again, customers have spoken out and there will be no SUV version featuring the famous Spirit of Ecstasy at the front.

We’re talking about customers who pay hundreds of thousands of euros for a car with a whole history of whimsy and opulence that is hard to match, so it’s better to keep them happy. Imagine if all brands followed their customers’ instructions regarding new models: perhaps this would be a better world in the automotive universe. Or not?
