The ŠKODA Superb 2018 gets technology but keeps the same exterior
The year 2018 will welcome the new version of the ŠKODA Superb 2018, which will keep the same look as the current one but will incorporate more technology for the driver

We are already in the second half of 2017, so it is time to start thinking about the models that will carry the “2018” label. One of those with important changes to its configuration is the ŠKODA Superb, a model that will have no changes to its exterior, at least none worth noting, but that will bring a good amount of technology into the cabin. The exterior will benefit from a new colour, called Velvet Red, in addition to new 19-inch light-alloy wheels.
Connectivity plays an important role in this update and will be one of the assets it uses to improve its presence in the market. The emergency call system Care Connect makes that call automatically if an accident or any other incident occurs. This system is standard on the Ambition version, although it will be present regardless of the infotainment system fitted.

The Czech brand makes two of these systems available to buyers of the model. One is the Swing, which has a touchscreen of between 5 and 6.5 inches. The second is called Columbus and is controlled through a screen of between 8 and 9.2 inches. Some of the ŠKODA Superb’s features can also be controlled from a mobile phone, since the connection with the phone has been improved and, thanks to the Connect app, it can be operated from a smartphone.
There is also better communication between all occupants, as a microphone is included that helps carry the voice from the front to the rear . In addition, a range of options allows a driver’s seat with massage, ventilation and memory functions to be fitted, for an additional cost.
As for the two front windows, these incorporate a new acoustic insulation that prevents more noise than advisable from entering the cabin. It also has a parking assistant, which warns the driver of obstacles during the manoeuvre through acoustic and visual alerts, and activates the emergency brake if necessary.
The model will be ready to face the new year and will seek its place among new models and the updated versions that its rivals will launch.
