The Sky View of the Bugatti Chiron: the most expensive sunroof in the world
In case the personalisation and options catalogue of the Bugatti Chiron was not enough to satisfy its demanding customers, the brand now adds a curious sunroof called Sky View.
Until the future Bugatti Divo arrives, which could become the most exclusive sports car in the world if it is confirmed that only 40 units will be built and the price will exceed 5 million euros, all eyes turn to the brand’s Bugatti Chiron whenever it is discussed.
And after the Sport version of the Chiron, and while the brand seems to keep working hard alongside Michelin to develop the right tyres to attempt the top speed record for production cars, Bugatti now surprises us with a new option for the supercar: a sunroof they call Sky View. And, in the absence of a convertible version…

Experiencing the maximum speed that a Bugatti Chiron is capable of reaching while looking at the stars is now possible with the “Sky View”. At least from the passenger seat, because at the speeds we are talking about, the driver should never take their eyes off the road, not even for a tenth of a second. It consists of two independent, fixed panels of laminated glass, each 65 centimetres long and 44 centimetres wide. According to the brand, they are fitted with a special tint to protect against solar radiation, and their installation provides almost 3 cm more headroom for the vehicle’s occupants.

At Bugatti they also make it clear that this roof has no negative effects on safety, as it does not reduce the rigidity of the bodyshell, and that it would have no negative effect on a “potential” attempt at a speed record. The price of this option? Bugatti has not revealed it. But we don’t think it’s something that will keep the potential customers of a car that costs 2.5 million euros awake at night.

The Bugatti Chiron fitted with the Sky View roof will make its first public appearance at the end of August, at the car festival held in Monterey, California. There they will probably tell us the price of what may be the most expensive sunroof in a production car, and perhaps give us some further details about the Bugatti Divo.
