The SLS AMG GT from every angle and its Nürburgring lap time

Mercedes-Benz has published some interesting details and many more photos of its updated and upgraded 2013 SLS AMG GT Coupe and Roadster. At the car’s presentation in Affalterbach, Germany, the company’s president said the most powerful SLS AMG GT Coupe would lap the Nordschleife in an impressive 7:30 minutes, thereby improving on the SLS AMG Coupe’s time (07:35 minutes) by a little over 5 seconds.

After the break you’ll find a gallery of more than 50 photos detailing every angle of this German supercar. But first, it’s worth recalling some key facts. This model has a 6.3-litre V8 engine offering 20 CV more than the SLS AMG, for a total of 583 CV delivered at 6,800 rpm, while maximum torque remains the same at 650 Nm at 4,750 rpm.

The performance division of the star brand claims a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in under 3.7 seconds, an improvement of 0.1 seconds. From a standstill it reaches 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds, with a limited top speed of 317 km/h.

Other notable improvements to the GT include a retuned AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed gearbox, which is now much faster but also more prone to faults, or ask those in Ferrari about that. Finally, a new development of the AMG Ride Control suspension.

Enjoy this jewel on wheels.
