The Smart community meets in Hamburg and chooses Salou for its 2017 gathering

Enthusiasts of Smart culture have met every year since 2001, in a different European city each time, showing off their impressive cars which, although small and designed for urban traffic, still have a very interesting appeal and presence
When a particular brand gets a car model right, the consequences are unpredictable. For example, fans of certain brands or models end up gathering in certain places to celebrate large get-togethers where the stars are those cars, current or classic, that show off in front of other users. The Smart is a fairly recent car, designed for city driving, and it has a legion of followers.
This has led owners of these small and efficient cars to meet in different cities since 2001, seeking to share experiences and let everyone enjoy a day of camaraderie with many activities centred on this model. This year, the Smart Times, which is the name of this meeting, was held in the German city of Hamburg.
This year 1,635 units of this car took to the streets of Hamburg. Last year it was held in the Portuguese city of Cascais, where there were up to 1,457 Smarts and, as at this year’s meeting, not only production models but also special versions that surprised us with their designs and attractive proposals could be seen.
Besides the versions that normally leave the brand’s factory, along with the Roadster, Coupe and Cabriolet, visitors could enjoy the Popemobile version or an off-road version whose ground clearance is surprising for this type of small, compact car.
At the event, as at others of this kind, attendees experience not only the cars and driving displays, but also food events, live music and more attractions that make this meeting a true event. And although so far it has taken place in other countries, next year enthusiasts will travel to Salou, where it will be held in 2017. It is a chance for us to see how fans of this city car put it all together. A great plan to close out next summer, right?

Qué bien! Allí estaré, seguro. Me encanta el nuevo modelo de smart, de hecho el otro día le comentaba a mi marido de comprárnoslo, ya que tenemos que cambiar uno de los coches. Me parece que la marca ha sabido encontrar el equilibrio entre practicidad y estética. Así que no me pienso perder el evento, aunque tenga que ir con mis hijos. La verdad es que podría aprovechar el viaje para pasar unos días con ellos por la Costa Dorada, ya que les encanta.
Genial. Allí estaré con mi hijo seguro, porque a los dos nos encanta el mundo del motor. Intentaré convencer a mi mujer y así hacemos una escapada en familia que a todos nos irá bien para desconectar. Nos encanta la Costa Daurada porque encontramos muchísimas actividades para hacer con el niño, además de ser preciosa y contar con una gastronomía espectacular.
Mis hijos quieren que vayamos. A mí el tema del motor no me entusiasma demasiado, pero a ellos y a mi marido sí. Les encantan los coches. He pensado que si vamos podemos hacer una escapada a la Costa Daurada y estar algunos días por allí, les encantará la idea seguro porque siempre que vamos se lo pasan en grande!
