The Geneva Motor Show opens its doors in early March. The Swiss event is the most important in Europe during the first half of the year, so brands are preparing their proposals for the occasion. Suzuki wants to take advantage of the fact that the main specialist media will be present in the Swiss city, and that is why it wants to officially present the Suzuki Baleno, which we had the chance to see at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015.

At the Geneva Motor Show 2016 this model can be seen in detail, ready to be marketed next spring in all European markets. The Suzuki Baleno is a compact hatchback that debuts a new platform. This offers greater rigidity and a tighter weight, which allows this new version to be much more efficient in terms of consumption and emissions.

This model will feature two types of drive, based on two different engine options. The first is the direct-injection BoosterJet, while the other uses a DUALJET engine, which will be fitted to a SHVS mild hybrid system (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki), which provides engine assistance through an integrated starter generator.

The new platform on which the new Suzuki Baleno is built delivers better efficiency and safety in the cabin

The driver assistance systems bring improvements in key aspects of driving such as acceleration, cornering and braking. It also integrates several passive safety systems, which make it a quite attractive compact.

This is confirmed by the success it has had since its launch in Asian countries such as India, where sales began a few months ago and where it has earned the trust of users, as its size suits their mobility needs. Once adapted to European tastes and regulations, the Suzuki Baleno will reach our markets within a few months, aiming to repeat its Asian success.
