The VIVE Plan continues to gain prominence

The programme launched by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade to promote the renewal of the vehicle fleet with more efficient and less polluting vehicles (under 3,500 kg MAM) has recorded a total of 35,030 transactions from its launch up to 31 March.
According to the latest available data, the VIVE Plan recorded 14,040 transactions in March, a figure representing approximately 20 per cent of the vehicles registered in the same month. The second half of March stands out in particular, with 7,997 transactions, the best fortnightly result since the plan was launched.
In the first quarter of the year, 34,670 transactions were made under VIVE, well above the expected rate of 15,000 transactions per month. To date, 343 million of the 700 million budgeted for this year has been used, so if this trend continues, the 2009 budget will be exhausted by early July.
These figures confirm the good reception the plan has had since the changes introduced by the Government in November 2008 among those wishing to buy a car.
