The Volkswagen Beetle gets an update with new engines and more technology
Volkswagen updates the Beetle range with revised engines that already meet the Euro 6 emissions standard, as well as more and better technology equipment focused above all on entertainment and safety. It will arrive in early 2015.

The Volkswagen Beetle gets an update with the arrival of new engines as well as the addition of new multimedia and safety systems.
Its styling remains intact, keeping that “fun car” image that is working so well for Volkswagen in this generation of the Beetle.
As for the engines, five new units will be added to the Beetle range, representing a modernisation of the entire existing range. These engines are known to meet the Euro 6 standard and are almost certainly the same ones now fitted to models such as the Golf.
The petrol engines will be three, rated at 105, 150 and 220 CV (1.2, 1.4 and 2.0 TSI), while the diesel options will be represented by two engines of 110 and 150 CV (1.6 and 2.0 TDI respectively). Consumption and emissions figures are therefore expected to improve, while performance is at least expected to remain unchanged.

As we have already mentioned, the Beetle will also receive a dose of technology with the addition of multimedia systems such as the “Discover Media” navigation unit already found in the Golf, as well as a very useful rear-view camera. On the safety front, the Beetle will debut a new blind-spot detection system as well as a rear traffic alert. The DSG gearboxes will also get an update with the addition of “sailing mode”, which can engage neutral while the vehicle is moving and coasting, thus saving fuel.
The first units of the revised Beetle will reach our market early next year in both hardtop and convertible bodystyles, with list prices that remain practically unchanged.
