The Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR receives an extra boost of power thanks to ABT. The tuner has added a high-tech engine control unit that increases its performance.

From the racetrack to the road, few vehicles embody the motto of ABT Sportsline, as does the recently tuned Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR. On request, the special model inspired by Volkswagen touring car racing receives an ABT Power performance upgrade that brings it almost level with the corresponding TCR race car.

By using the ABT Engine Control high-tech engine control unit, AEC, output rises from 290 CV to 340 CV. Equally impressive is the increase of 50 Nm of torque, which means it now delivers 430 Nm. The increase in engine power is also reflected in even better driving performance.

“From a standing start, it reaches 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds instead of 5.6 seconds, and the new top speed is 263 km/h”.

If you dare to venture onto the racetrack, the lateral dynamics of this most powerful GTI will impress you. Road grip is improved by the ABT suspension springs, as well as by the ABT height-adjustable suspension kit. The final touch comes from the ABT anti-roll bars , which can be combined with the standard suspension to reliably eliminate any risk of body roll.
