The Volvo XC60 enters 2025 with a particularly tech-focused restyle
The Volvo XC60, the brand’s best-selling model, receives an update across several areas to keep it fully up to date

The Volvo XC60 holds a special place for the brand, as since the second generation of this mid-size SUV reached the market in 2017, the Swedish manufacturer has made it the best-selling model of Volvo as well as one of the most popular plug-in hybrids in Europe. On a global scale, the XC60 has registered more than 1.5 million units since its debut in 2008.
It is therefore one of the most important models for Volvo, and it is obvious it should be kept up to date. In fact, at the end of 2023 Volvo announced a small restyle for the XC60, entering 2024 with everything it had. Volvo has continued the same formula for 2025, and just one year after the arrival of this restyle, the XC60 introduces new features.

Aesthetically, there are no major differences, and you will have to look closely to spot them on the 2025 XC60. The most significant change is the design of the front grille, which is inherited from other updated models of the brand, such as the new XC90. In addition, the rear lights now appear darkened. There will be new wheel designs along with new colours: Forest Lake, Aurora Silver and Mulberry Red, the latter available on the XC60 for the first time.

Inside, the new Volvo XC60 enhances its premium image with a combination of inlays, renewed interior trim and new premium materials such as the Quilted Nordico and Navy Herringbone Weave options. It also becomes perhaps more versatile and practical, with a flexible and spacious load compartment, a new cup holder and an improved wireless phone charger.

On the technology side, we already anticipated a few days ago that the entire Volvo range would be renewed and improved with the new Volvo Car UX, and this restyle of the XC60 already includes it. It is a new, highly customisable infotainment system that also offers a safer and more pleasant way to interact. It will be kept up to date through the over-the-air updates that Volvo will roll out, and on the XC60 you will find it on an 11.2-inch touchscreen, sharper than its predecessor, with a pixel density 21% higher and faster thanks to the latest Snapdragon platform.

Mechanically, there are no changes for the 2025 Volvo XC60, so the choice of engines remains the same: the B5 petrol with mild-hybrid technology and a power output of 250 CV, while the following options are the T6 and T8 plug-in hybrid versions with 350 CV and 455 CV respectively, although the latter is only associated with the sporty Polestar Engineered trim.
